Young Janacek Philharmonic

The Young Janacek Philharmonic was the result of an initiative by Jan Latham-Koenig, musical director of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra since 1997. The aim of this group is to bring together young musicians from Europe. The Young Janacek Philharmonic gave its first performance in summer 2002 at the Janacek Festival in Luhacovice, the popular spa town where Janacek spent every summer and where he composed most of his major works.
